In the meantime, the Otto Toeplitz Memorial Foundation has started to work. In the winter term 2022/23, Prof. Dr. Norbert Schappacher from the University of Strasbourg was a guest researcher and lecturer at the Mathematical Institute. Currently, Dr. Michael Friedman and Dr. Hannes Junker have a PostDoc position as a research assistant. They also give lectures and seminars on the history of mathematics.

The Otto Toeplitz Foundation is looking for interested historians of mathematics who can be employed from Winter semester 2025/26 for a maximum of 5 years. This includes:

• Guest researchers
• Postdocs with an outstanding doctoral degree
• PhD students

Interested candidates with one of these profiles who would like to spend a period of time in Bonn as a visiting scientist (with a salary corresponding to the position) are asked to contact Prof. Kaenders at R.Kaenders@uni-bonn.de and to submit a proposal for a research project (max. 2 pages of description of the intended intended research project and with time frame). Also hints on possible candidates are welcome.
