Connor Malin (MPIM Bonn): The unreasonable effectiveness of right modules in homotopy theory
Abstract
We describe the theory of right modules in Goodwillie calculus, focusing primarily on applications to homotopy theory. In particular, we describe the relation to Poincaré/Koszul duality of $E_n$ algebras and unstable $v_n$-periodic homotopy theory. These two examples are in settings with Tate vanishing and lead one to wonder what can be said in general. We discuss divided power structures on derivatives and mention applications to localizations of spaces.
